Browsing the Library
Find devices from Link ECU, Haltech, MoTeC, MaxxECU, ECUMaster, Emtron, and more

Public Device Library

Browse the full system library at Device Library - no account required. Filter by manufacturer, device type, or search by name to find what you need.

Your Device Library

Once logged in, access the Device Library from the main menu. Your library shows both system devices and any devices you have added or customised. Use the search and filter controls to narrow results by manufacturer or device type.

Importing a Device into a Harness
Add a device to your harness with all connectors and cavity descriptions pre-filled

From the Connectors page

Open your harness and navigate to the Connectors page. Click Import Device, find the device you need, and click import. All connectors defined on that device are added to your harness with their cavity descriptions already populated.

Auto-generated cavity descriptions

When two device connectors are wired together, EZ Wire automatically generates cavity descriptions like "An Volt 1 – TPS Signal" - keeping your documentation clean without extra data entry.

Customising Devices
Two options for working from an existing device, choose based on whether you want to track future updates

Create Custom Version (system devices only)

Creates a personal version of a system device that stays linked to it as a parent. You can rename cavities to match your team's conventions. For example, changing "Aux Output 1" to "AUX 1". The original system device remains untouched. If EZ Wire updates the parent device (e.g. a manufacturer releases a revised pinout), you'll receive an email notification and can compare your version against the updated parent to decide what to adopt.

Applying your version to existing harnesses: Once you've created a custom version, open any harness that already has connectors from the original system device. On each connector's options menu, choose Update to My Device Version. EZ Wire will swap the cavity descriptions to your naming conventions while leaving all existing connections and wiring data intact.

Copy Device (system and personal devices)

Creates a standalone copy with no link to the source device. Useful when you want to use an existing device as a starting point for a new one. For example, a sensor with a similar pinout that only needs a few changes. The copy is fully independent and won't receive update notifications.

Reuse across projects

Both options produce a personal device that can be imported into any harness, carrying your naming conventions and cavity descriptions across every project automatically.

Adding Your Own Devices
Build a library tailored to the platforms you work with

Create a new device

Navigate to the Device Library and click Create Device. Give the device a name, manufacturer, and type, then add its connectors with cavity counts and descriptions. Once saved, the device is available to import into any harness in your account.

When to create your own

Create custom devices for proprietary or less common hardware that isn't in the system library, or for devices you've built yourself. The effort pays off the second time you use the same platform in a new project.

Submitting to the System Library
Help the community by contributing well-configured devices to the shared system library

How to submit

If you've created a device that would be useful to other EZ Wire users, you can request it be added to the system library. Open the device in your library and click Submit to System Library. The EZ Wire team will review it and add it if approved.

What makes a good submission

Submissions are most likely to be accepted when cavity descriptions match the manufacturer's official pinout documentation, all connectors are included, and the device name and manufacturer are accurate. The cleaner and more complete the data, the more useful it is for everyone.
