Use the search and filter options to find specific connectors by part number, manufacturer, or specifications

  4. 4

Click on any design to view full details

View all part numbers, specifications, and images

Understanding Ownership
Identify your designs vs system library designs

Each connector design displays an ownership badge to help you quickly identify who created it and what permissions you have.

Badge Types

Your Design

Designs you created. You have full control - you can view, edit, and delete these designs. You can upload custom images and define custom cavity names.

System Library

Designs provided by Corsa Technic and EZ Wire. The base design is read-only, but you can personalize any system library design by uploading your own custom image and defining your own custom cavity names. Your customizations are saved for you without changing the original system design for others.

Customizing System Library Designs
Personalize system designs with your own images and cavity names

System library designs come with default images and cavity names, but you may want to customize them to match your specific connectors or naming preferences. EZ Wire lets you add your own custom image and define your own cavity names for any system design.

Adding a Custom Image

  1. 1

Click on any system library connector design

Navigate to the detail view of the connector you want to customize

  2. 2

    Click "Upload Custom Image" button

This option appears if you haven't already uploaded a custom image for this design

  3. 3

Select your custom connector photo or diagram

Upload a photo of your actual connector or a custom diagram that better matches your needs

  4. 4

Your custom image is now saved

You'll see your custom image whenever you view this design. Other users still see the original image.

Customizing Cavity Names

  1. 1

Click on any system library connector design

  2. 2

    Click "Customize Cavity Names" button

Opens a modal where you can define your own naming scheme

  3. 3

    Enter your custom cavity names

Use any naming scheme that matches your physical connector: numbers (1,2,3), letters (A,B,C), grid notation (A1, A2, B1, B2), or descriptive names (GND, 12V, CAN_H)

  4. 4

    Save your custom cavity names

Your cavity names replace the system defaults for this design. You can update or reset them anytime.

Searching and Filtering Designs
Quickly find the connector design you need

The connector library includes powerful search and filtering to help you find connectors quickly, whether they're your designs or system library designs.

Search & Filter Options

Search by Part Number

Type any part of a part number in the search box. The list updates as you type to show matching results.

Filter by Manufacturer

Select a specific manufacturer to see only connectors from that brand (e.g., TE Connectivity, Molex, Delphi).

Filter by Number of Positions

Filter to show only connectors with a specific number of positions (e.g., 2-pin, 4-pin, 48-pin).

Filter by Number of Rows

Filter by the number of rows in the connector layout (e.g., 1-row, 2-row, 3-row).

Filter by Sealed Type

Filter connectors by their sealing characteristics (e.g., sealed, unsealed).

Filter by Color

Filter connectors by their housing color when available.

Adding Designs to Your Harness
Quickly add pre-configured connectors to your wiring harness

Adding a connector design to your harness automatically creates the connector with all saved details including images, cavity names, part numbers, and specifications.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Best Practices
Tips for effective connector design library usage
  • Check System Library First

Before creating a new design, search the library - the connector you need might already exist in the system library. You can always customize it with your own image and cavity names.

  • Customize System Designs When Needed

If a system library design is close but not perfect, customize it with your own image and cavity names rather than creating a duplicate design. This keeps the library organized while giving you the exact configuration you need.

  • Use Filters Effectively

Combine multiple filters (manufacturer + positions) to quickly find specific connectors, especially as the library grows.
